Ted

If you are a Family Guy fan then you will undoubtedly enjoy Ted (from the creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane).

For the first time as writer, director and voice of Ted, you can see Seth's humour on the big screen.

You can rest assured that you are in for the same insensitive and inappropiate humour as you would find in the Family Guy series.

Ted is about a grown man whose companion is a cherised teddy that came to life after a childhood wish and who refuses to leave his side.

The movie is intentionally offensive and is one of the funniest movies for grownups that's come along in years.

I found it irresistibly funny and we all know that laughter doesn't lie.

Expendables 2

Expendables 2 is a fun roundup of the yesteryear action stars who, in this movie, celebrate their former glories.

It is miles better than the prequel with Simon West in the direction helm (sorry Sly).

What this movie lacks in brains it makes up for in brawn and though it may be all brawn and no brain, there is  plenty to enjoy.

Shamelessly we have to admit that we found the back-to-basics action highly entertaining which made it worth the price of the admission ticket.

Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter

If you're up for an alternate history lesson this one is for you.
From visionary filmmakers, Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, comes Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter.

Burton doesn't expect us to take the idea that Lincoln was a vampire hunter too seriously so has a lot of fun with this concept.

With Bekmambetov at the helm, one can expect action sequences like no other.

What makes Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter such an enjoyable watch is that it abandons what we consider truth in history and in physics.

Its a funny yet scary adventure that transforms old Abe into a bad-ass action hero.

It's ridiculous and outrageous but that's what makes it unbelievably entertaining from start to finish.

Brave

Pixar's 13th feature might fall short of what is expected from the stable, but is still head and shoulders above most of its CG competitors.

"Brave" may fail to take hold of your heartstrings like it should but it is still worthy of the Pixar name.

You and your family are up for a good time with this movie, with laughs and a few surprises. The movie's real message is in the lengths Merida goes to to repair the damage her words and actions cause to her mother.

It's only flaw is that we know Pixar is capable of so much more.

This funny fantasy adventure with a twist gets a 4 thumbs up.
