The Box

The Box is a mysterious, dark and complex movie combining a mix of Sci-fi and Thriller elements.

The main theme in the movie revolves around a box with a button on it. If you press the button you can win $1 million but there’s a catch... If you press the button, someone dies... then there’s another catch... it’s someone you don’t know!

While there are some good performances from Cameron Diaz and James Marsden, who are the main characters, we don’t recommend this one if you want to watch something light hearted!

We give this album a rating of 2 out of 5.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox is the film version of the Rahl Dahl book.

It is a delightful story that is suitable for both you and your younger brother or sister- mom will even enjoy it! It is a story of adventure, with slightly darker undertones.

Directed by Wes Anderson, this animated film is constantly moving never allowing one to get bored. It’s full of bright colours, awesome cartoon like expressions and great music.

This film is a must- see and will have you feeling adventurous and sly as a fox!

We rated it 4 out of 5.

Paranormal Activity

All we can say is, Yikes! This movie is super scary and extraordinary!

If you enjoy sleepless nights and not being able to walk through your house without all the lights on, then we recommend- Paranormal activity.

Ghosts and haunted houses, things moving on their own and duvets flying off the bed.. sound frightening...?

We give this movie 2 out of 5.

New Moon

We wouldn’t have to say much for Twighlight fanatics to instantly love this movie, having said that... It is drastic fantastic!

We are introduced to new characters, taken to new places and drawn deeper into the Vampire and Werewolf world.

If you loved Twighlight then New moon is a must see, then a must get on DVD!

We give this movie 5 out of 5.

Amelia

Amelia is a movie based on the life of Amelia Earhart, the famous female pilot of the late 1930, who went missing while she was attempting to circumnavigate around the world.

This movie is a definite chick-flick that will have you and your mom shedding a tear by the end of it. If sentimental movies are a bore for you then don’t see this one!

However if you want to see a movie about following your dreams and persevering no matter how tough it gets this is the movie for you! While some of the character’s lines are quite soppy this is a movie about real people and real events.

We give this album a rating of 2 out of 5.

2012

If you enjoyed Independence day and The day after tomorrow then you will absolutely love 2012- this movie is all about the end of the world and the prediction the Mayan people made about it.

Apparently we are all doomed on 21st December 2012, so if you believe that then don’t waste your money on any durable warrantee items.

This movie is full of heart racing action and thriller moments that are sure to have you jumping out of your seat!
We give this album a rating of 4 out of 5.

This is it - Michael Jackson's life in a movie

This movie is about Michael Jackson’s life as a celebrity. It is in the form of a documentary and musical mixed, that follows his sold out concerts and struggles while on tour. We get to meet people he worked with and the people that were close to him. This two-hour long movie, put together from 120 hours of digital-video footage of Michael and his crew rehearsing and preparing for his much anticipated comeback that sadly did not happen because of his untimely death on June 25th this year. It is the story Michael Jackson wanted told about himself, the way he saw himself and the way he thought he was seen by the world. This movie is sure to have you moon-walking your way out of the cinema!

Dance Flick

Nobody can do comedy like the Wayans brothers, and this movie is no exception. It’s a complete rip off of all those cheesy dance movies that we all love so much (come on, admit it). There’s the guy from the wrong side of the tracks, who falls in love with the rich girl, and all that they have in common is their love for dance… And then, of course, there’s the dance-off climax where everyone pulls out their best moves and the good guys win. Yeah, you know how the story goes. But thanks to the Wayans bros, you’ll be in stitches watching their unique take on this stereotyped movie. It’s a must see! Dance Flick is currently showing at cinemas.

Final Destination 4

You may be asking yourself how you can make four movies with exactly the same premise: that death will hunt you down if you interfere with fate. Well, thing is, it doesn’t matter that you know exactly how the story will end. What matters is that it still manages to give you a couple of those jump-in-your-chair and scream-out-loud moments. As with most movies that have more than one sequel, it falls into the B-grade bin, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t cool for a good scare – especially if you’re looking for an excuse to grab your date’s hand. Just be careful you don’t spill the popcorn! Final Destination 4 is currently showing at cinemas.

Gamer

Imagine playing a game that gives you total control of another human being. And imagine those being 'played' are actually real-life prisoners who are offered the chance of a life outside bars if they can survive 30 rounds of the game. Yup, this movie takes fantasy gaming to the max. It’s a chance for gamers to act out their most savage and violent fantasies using other people, and the chances of survival are next to none. But one prisoner has lasted 27 rounds, and it looks like he might just make it out. That is if his blood-thirsty player lets him… Gamer is a hectic ride through some pretty violent gaming situations, but it’s bound to blow your socks off. Opens on 23 October.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Flint Lockwood’s passion for inventing things has had pretty disastrous consequences until he makes a machine that creates food from nothing but water. And when hamburgers, spaghetti and jelly start falling from the sky, Flint becomes the most popular guy in the world. But as good as free and endless food sounds, it comes with its own problems, like the fact that in no time at all, the streets start overflowing with old food that people have craved but can’t eat. Talk about your eyes being bigger than your stomach. So food chaos ensues, and Flint and his trusty weather-girl friend must try save the world from drowning in syrup pancakes. It’s one of the best animated films of the year with just one downfall: it’ll make you hungry as hell watching all that good food rain down! Opens on Friday 16 October.

Jennifer's Body

Would you turn down the hottest chick in school if she asked you over to her place? Hell no, I hear you screaming, but what if she was actually a demon who was going to eat you whole? Well, this is what happens after Jennifer’s body gets possessed by a cranky demon who wants to eat every boy in sight. She’s the sexiest cheerleader on campus and has the guys drooling over her every move, so luring them in for the kill is as easy as taking candy from a baby. It seems the only person who can stop dear Jen is her far-less sexy best friend Needy, but will she be able to escape being chowed herself? Named the World’s Sexiest Woman by FHM, Megan Fox plays Jennifer, so be proactive and take along a bib for your boyfriend when you go see it! Opens on Friday 16 October.
